The term "indigo children" came from a 1982 book by a parapsychologist named Nancy Ann Tappe who wrote about children's aura colors. A general description of indigo children dates their first appearance to the 1970s. According to most portrayals in New Age books and websites, indigo children resist unearned authority in formal institutions and at home and this refusal to go along can make them challenging to deal with. Indigo children may act like royalty, refuse to do what they are told, become frustrated by rote activities that ignore creativity, get bored by assigned tasks, exhibit symptoms of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, be especially creative, intuitive and empathic, show early signs of advanced intelligence, abstract thinking and talent, daydream and ignore social convention. According to the College of Metaphysical Studies, all star kids need lots of quiet time for sleep, processing experiences and meditation, free from TV, video games or other stimulating activities.
Crystal children are the next evolution of the star children, the arrivals from 1990 to 2010. Their job is to act as a group consciousness to move humanity to the next spiritual level of enlightenment. They are less warrior-like than the indigo children, as their main mission is to bring peace and forgiveness to the planet. Crystal children are very affectionate, musical, artistic, sensitive, generous and fearless in high places. They are drawn to animals, nature, crystals and stones and should spend time in nature and have crystals in their environment. They love attention, dislike loud sounds, glaring lights, sugar, caffeine and any kind of fighting, so their surroundings should be serene and their diets completely natural. They may be able to move or bend objects without touching them and can react negatively to electrical items like TV or computers.
Rainbow children are generation three of the star children. They began arriving in 2000 and they are said to be very rare, joyful and charming. Rainbow children are in their first incarnation so they are born without past karma and are fearless and trusting. They are believed to be talented at hands-on healing, full of energy and able to instantly manifest whatever they need. Their mission is to advance the work of the indigo and crystal children. They are attuned to color and color vibrations, are telepathic and choose extremely balanced and functional families. They react well to organized but colorful environments, pets and time spent with like-minded children.
Adherents to the star children theory believe that the majority of rainbow children will be born between 2010 and 2030.They will bring a huge wave of open-hearted, unconditional love to the planet and use their powerful heart energy for healing. As more people come in contact with these children and begin to know them, personal transitional shifts will be possible.
