Establish a drainage area where the water condensed in the pump will end up. Measure the length from the pump to this location and acquire pipes that will cover the entire length.
Attach a pipe union onto the drainage outlet on the pump. Unions are preferred over couplers because they are easier to disconnect in an event where the pump needs displacing without tampering with the plumbing system.
Connect the pipes you acquired from the pump to the drainage area using pipe connectors and wrenches. Make sure the pipes are level in either a horizontal or vertical plane using a level. Perform any corrections, if any, to ensure this.
Reinforce the pipe system using hangers. For vertical installations, a hanger at the two ends of the entire system and at both sides of a joint are recommended while for horizontal piping; hangers are efficient at regular intervals 5 feet apart.
Test your system for any improper joints that leak. Tighten all the joints using the wrench and start the pump so water can flow through the pipes while observing at the joints, checking for leaks.
