How to Use Qualitative Research in the Class Setting

Qualitative research is subjective in approach and works to answer the question why as compared to its quantitative counterpart that deals in numerical results either supporting or disproving a particular hypothesis. It investigates the reasons for a particular phenomenon and thus tends to go deeper than other research methods. This approach to learning is especially useful for students because it enables them to develop a better understanding of a topic and obtain the answers to why things occur as they do and dispel myths revolving around such issues.

      Identify the objective of your research; that is the question you would like to answer through your research.
