How to Fix-Up Pictures & Decorate Them Without Downloading the Graphics

Whether holding a family reunion or birthday party, or if you're simply relaxing on a beach with a friend, a digital camera comes in handy to capture memorable moments. With Windows Live Photo Gallery (WLPG), you can download pictures from your camera into your computer. WLPG allows you to spruce up pictures, fix-up mistakes like red eye and allows you to share your finished art with friends and family.

      Download your pictures from your camera to the computer, using a USB cord. Open the "Pictures" folder by selecting "Windows Live Photo Gallery" to import your pictures.

      Select the picture you want to edit. Locate the "Fix" tab at the top bar of WLPG. The top bar of WLPG also displays other editing tabs.

      Click on the "Fix Red Eye" option, from the top bar on your Windows Photo screen. Use this tool when your subject appear to have red eyes, an effect caused by camera flash. Select the eyes by dragging the cursor to, and expanding a box over the affected eye. This effect adjusts automatically, so you can repeat the process until you are satisfied.

      Adjust the amount of exposure on your picture. Click on the "Exposure" option, then select the "Auto Adjust" option, to automatically adjust the brightness and contrast level of your picture. View the picture to verify if the exposure adjusted correctly. If adjustments are still needed, click on the "Exposure" button again, then manually select the exposure adjustment that you prefer.

      Edit unwanted sections from your picture. Select the "Crop Picture" button to the left of the top bar. Select the crop border, then drag the frame to fit the area you want to crop. Once you have selected the crop area, click "Apply" to accept the changes.

      Join pictures into panoramic scenes by selecting the "Create" button on the top left corner of the window. Select various pictures that you want to use by pressing the "CTRL" key as you pick each picture. Click on the "Create Panoramic Photo" option to join them together.
