How to Read Morse Code

The Morse code is a system of dots and dashes used to send messages by wire. The code was named after the inventor, Samuel Finley Breese Morse.

The dots and dashes of the Morse code are based on timing. The dot is a rapid click. A short dash sounds twice as long as a dot. Each letter of the alphabet is represented by a different combination of dots and dashes. The code also includes numerals and punctuation marks. A space between words is as long as six dots.
