Consumers have access to a number of different types of fluorescent light bulbs, including T8 bulbs. All fluorescent bulbs emit visible light after photons collide with the inside coatings of the bulbs. Photons are produced when electricity reacts with the argon gas and mercury vapor enveloped inside every fluorescent bulb. T8 bulbs offer a number of benefits over other types of light bulbs. They are traditionally fitted into ceiling fixtures to provide light for larger areas.
