Be at every scheduled class. Pay attention during the class sessions. Ask the teacher questions if there is something you don't understand. Afterward, read over the information in your textbook to ensure that you understand it. Ask the teacher more questions if you come across something else you don't understand.
Complete all homework assignments. Go over any incorrect answers to make sure you can do them correctly. Make notes of any incorrect answers. Practice the problems you did incorrectly. Focus on doing the problems correctly in the future.
Compose a review sheet for all exams. Include all major concepts studied in the class. Organize the information in a way that is easiest for you to remember. For example, if you tend to remember lists more easily, write a list of equations and key concepts. Review your information after each class session.
Plan a study session every day after class. Look over your review sheet. Add any new information to your review sheet from the last class. Study the review sheet every time you add new information instead of trying to retain it all at once. Set the goal of understanding the information and the answers to problems. Do not just memorize.
Learn from each exam that you take in class. Do not get discouraged and give up if your score is low. Note the incorrect problems and try to understand why you did them incorrectly. Ask your teacher to go over the problems with you.
Take proper care of yourself. Get an adequate amount of sleep each night. Exercise regularly. Take time away from schoolwork to relax and rejuvenate your mind. Realize that a rested mind learns and solves problems more easily.
