How to Become a High Achiever

A high achiever is generally thought of as someone who has positive results consistently in school, work and social settings. High achievers strive to accomplish a lot, and are usually successful in attaining their goals. Some high achievers are gifted intellectually, but it isn't a requirement. Many high achievers have natural attributes that enable them to reach goals regardless of the situation. It's possible to model their behaviors and work toward becoming a high achiever, too.

Instructions

    • 1

Take advantage of opportunities as they present themselves to you. These could be new projects, developing concepts or taking part in training. Take action quickly to turn the opportunities into reality.

    • 2

Set goals that are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-based. For example, set a goal of increasing your sales by 50 percent within six months. Practice effective time management by using lists and schedules. Focus on each task as you perform it.

    • 3

Handicap yourself when performing more mundane tasks to stay challenged and focused on achieving the outcome you want. Set timers, start different projects or cast a more critical eye on the quality of your work.

    • 4

Recognize all of the elements you need to succeed and continue to work through boring tasks that you know are necessary to reach a goal. As an example, learn basic accounting practices to start a business or embrace mundane sections of a course of study to achieve a high grade.

    • 5

Stay longer than your co-workers, teammates or classmates and practice the skills necessary to succeed at a high level. Notice what everyone else does and do a little more on a consistent basis.
