      Review your qualifications for the license. In order to take the test, you must be eligible for employment in the United States and understand and speak English. Make sure that you have these qualifications before studying for the exam.

      Practice taking the test. Buy a book or borrow one from the library that contains recent exams that you can use to practice. Simulate test conditions to help you be more comfortable.

      Confirm the test date with COLEM. After you have sent the application, be sure to follow-up and inquire about the date, time and test site. Know what particular exam you are taking and read more about exam procedures, such as how long they will they allow you to take the test and if there are any breaks. Also, ask about the passing scores, the passing rate and the flexibility in retaking the exam. This specific information should be asked to the appropriate COLEM office.
