Verify that minimum education and experience levels have been reached. Eight years of experience as a quality auditor and at least three years in a position where decision-making power is utilized is the minimum requirement. If the applicant has an advanced degree, a year or more of basic experience may be waived, but not the three years of decision-making experience. Gather proof of all experience in the form of check stubs and performance reviews.
Review the study guides and test examples. Take a practice test to determine what areas need additional study. The test covers auditing fundamentals, process-based auditing, auditor competencies, quality tools and audit program and business applications. These areas are referred to as the body of knowledge. The test will contain several case studies with questions in addition to general knowledge questions.
