How to Display Questions in ELT

Display questions in English Language Teaching (ELT) are questions instructors ask students to check comprehension. Sometimes called elicitation, display questions help teachers gauge how much of the lesson or skill has been understood. Display questions most often are used to test comprehension of the key receptive skills, reading and listening, while asking them to respond through productive skills, speaking and writing. Teachers should think of display questions as a chance for students to demonstrate, or display, understanding of past material.
