How to Get SSAT Practice

Practice tests for the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) can be found in many locations. You can obtain tests by getting them directly through the SSAT website, where sample text questions are available as well, or you can get them from other sources. Here are the steps you will need to take to get the practice you need to pass the SSAT.

Instructions

  1. Obtaining Official Test Questions and Practice Tests From the SSAT Website

    • 1

Go to the SSAT website. Under "Preparing for the Test" heading you will find two options: "Sample Test Questions" and "Study Guide."

    • 2

Click "Sample Test Questions" and it will bring up a page of practice questions from four of the five sections of the test. The math (quantitative) and reading comprehension (verbal) sections are interactive and can be answered right on the site.

    • 3

Answer the questions and click "Get Score" to get the percentage of the questions that you answered correctly. SSAT also gives the correct answers to the practice questions as well.

    • 4

Purchase a packet of study material from the SSAT website by following the eHow steps in "How to Obtain a Study Guide For The SSAT."

Getting Practice Test Questions From Other Sources

    • 5

Search the Internet for SSAT practice information. Keep in mind that many of these sites are looking to sell you something, like a book for instance, so be aware of this and search for sites with free, reliable information.

    • 6

Check the credentials of the publisher before spending any money to purchase materials.

    • 7

Investigate SSAT practice test resources or referrals with your guidance counselor.
