How to Open a Cosmetology School in West Virginia

A cosmetologist is one who provides hair services, such as cuts, colors and styling, in addition to giving manicures and pedicures, facials, waxing, tweezing and ear piercing. To become a licensed cosmetologist in West Virginia, individuals need to attend a board-approved school and take 2000 hours of courses. As of late 2010, there are only 15 such schools in the entire state. West Virginia has many stringent rules for establishing and maintaining cosmetology schools.
