National Bartenders School Information

Bartending schools offer classes that specifically train adults to handle the many tasks, challenges and duties that come with serving alcohol. While many casual bars or local restaurants may train their own first-time bartenders, there is a multitude of pertinent knowledge and important skills that may be missed under informal training. High-end liquor establishments with the best-paying bar tippers often require that bartenders have completed a training course at a certified bartending school.
  1. History

    • The first National Bartender's School was opened in Los Angeles, California in 1984. In the years to follow, more schools were opened throughout the state of California and subsequently expanded to cover seven states. The National Bartenders School has trained tens of thousands of students to become high-quality bartenders under the wing of expert instructors.

Refresher courses also are an option for bartenders who simply want to step their skills up a notch in order to reap the reward of greater tips at the bar they already work. Once you have been a student at a National Bartending school, you can always return free of charge for a refresher course at any of the multiple National Bartenders School locations.
