How to Take the GED Test in California

The California Department of Education highlights that the General Education Diploma (GED) examination is administered at over 180 testing sites throughout the state with average testing fees ranging from $150 to $200. Test takers complete a battery of tests in language arts, science, math and social studies. In order to register for the GED exam, California residents must be at least 17 years old and meet certain requirements.
