How to Find Out If I Pass My GED

The GED or General Educational Development test covers five subjects and is designed to evaluate if the test taker possesses the educational equivalent of graduating high school students. To take the GED test, you must be at least 16 years of age, not enrolled in high school, and cannot have graduated from high school. Passing the GED test requires a cumulative score of 2250 or higher, with a score of at least 410 or greater on each individual test.

      If you completed the exam at a GED testing center in the United States, contact that testing center. You can contact the center by phone or by mail to request your transcript.

      If you completed the GED test in the military, go to the American Council on Education website and click "GED testing service" from the "Program or Service" dropdown list. Click "Test Takers," then "After," and then "Request a copy of your transcript." Scroll to and click "GED transcript request form" and complete the form that appears in a separate browser window. Mail the form to GED Testing Service, One Dupont Circle, Suite 250, Washington, DC 20036 along with a $14 payment per transcript. Payments can be made using a money order, Visa, or MasterCard. If you are paying by credit card, you may fax the completed and signed request form to 202-296-8404.

      Contact the providence or territory of permanent residence if you are a member of the Canadian Forces.

      Contact the Office of Student Records, Big Bend Community College, APO New York, NY 09111 or Big Bend Community College, Moses Lake, WA 98837 or call 509-762-6226 if you tested in the military in Europe through the Big Bend High School.

      Contact the St. Louis High School if you tested in Okinawa or Korea through the Hawaii St. Louis High School. The school can be contacted by mail at Office of the Dean, St. Louis High School -- Adult Division, 3140 Waialae Avenue, Honolulu, HI 96816.

      Contact the Kubaski High School if you tested in Okinawa through the Kubaski High School. The school can be contacted at Kubaski High School, Superintendent, Kubasaki High School, Department of Defense, FPO San Francisco, CA 96602.

      Contact Prometric/Thomson Learning if you are a non-military individual who tested overseas after January 1997. Prometric/Thomson can be contacted by mail at Prometric/Thomson, GED Division, 1501 S. Clinton Street, 14th floor, Baltimore, MD 21224.
