How to Be a Good Sorority Recruiter

Finding the right girls for your sorority takes effort. You do not want to simply pick any girl to join without knowing anything about her. You want girls that will represent what your sorority means and that will respect your fellow sisters. In order to be a successful and good sorority recruiter, you must first understand what your sorority needs. You must then utilize your communication skills to get to know your potential recruits so you can make the best decision for your sorority.

Instructions

    • 1

Keep the needs of your sorority in mind at all times. Have a meeting with your sisters and write down ways that your sorority could improve. Discuss what type of girl could help you improve your sorority. For example, if your sorority wants to become more involved in charity work, you would look for girls that enjoy volunteering and can bring their experience to your sorority. Talk about the type of girl that would fit in with you and your sisters.

    • 2

Pay close attention to the girls you see around at parties and other places. You want girls that not only enjoy socializing but study and work hard, as well. If you only see a girl at parties and never see her in class or at the library, find out more about her before considering her.

    • 3

Look for girls that show enthusiasm for your sorority. During your bid party, scope out the enthusiastic girls that are mingling with other sisters and seem to show a genuine interest in what your sorority is about.

    • 4

Utilize social networking. If you have a few girls that you feel might be a good fit for your sorority, get to know more about them through their social networking profiles. While you must take everything you see with a grain of salt, keep in mind good and bad qualities you find.

    • 5

Give everyone a chance. Talk to people and give them a chance to catch your interest. Start a conversation and encourage potential recruits to ask questions about the sorority and to also talk about themselves. Treat everyone with respect and be polite. When you act polite and genuinely interested in what someone says, it makes her feel more at ease and more willing to talk about her likes and dislikes.
