First name given to the Greek democracy?

There wasn't one single "first name" given to the Greek democracy. The term "democracy" (δημοκρατία, *dēmokratía*) itself, meaning "rule by the people," came into use to describe the Athenian system. Before that, different city-states had different forms of government, and there wasn't a single overarching label applied to them.
