Put a school-oriented message on the shirt. With letter stamps or stencils and some black fabric paint, broadcast your year of graduation: "Clearwater High School, Class of 1993" or "Jones University, Class of 2000." Or get alliterative with the school mascot: "Conquering Cougars," "Winning Wildcats," "Victorious Vikings" or "Successful Spartans." Personalize it: "I'm a Wildcat!" or "Vicki Loves Everton U!" Or, put the school motto on your shirt, or use fabric paint in bright shades to paint your school's name on the shirt in your school colors.
Put decorative accents or pictures on your shirt. Paint on the school's logo or seal, or try a black-and-white effect with an outline or silhouette of a particularly distinctive building, hall, clock tower or other such landmark on the school's campus. Or, head to the school bookstore to buy keychains, pennants, jewelry, dog tags and other items with the school name or mascot on them. Superglue on a short bit of chain or tie them onto a loop of string; then stitch the trinket onto your shirt. Or, sew ribbon, lace, feathers, shoelaces in school colors onto the shirt.
Decorate your shirt with the school mascot. Some schools have rather madcap mascots representing them. Big Al, mascot for the University of Alabama's Crimson Tide, is a big elephant; Blizzard T. Husky, mascot of Michigan Tech, is a big husky dog. Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech are represented by a yellow jacket named Buzz and a turkey-like figure named Hokie Bird, respectively. Some schools use live animals as their mascots, such as the University of Arkansas' Tusk, a Russian boar, and the University of Georgia's Uga, a bulldog. Draw the mascot onto the shirt, then use fabric scraps, glitter, buttons, fabric paint and puffy paint to bring it to life.
