Organizing a School's Karaoke Night

College students get into all kinds of wild parties and events. Karaoke, however, is probably the least harmful. Organizing a school karaoke event can be a fulfilling experience that yields an increased connection with the campus population. As you become more experienced at organizing events, and get to know most of the people around campus, you will be able to throw bigger and better karaoke parties.

Instructions

    • 1

Plan the night or nights to hold a school karaoke event. Consider the schedule of students, and the time they would most likely go to an event in lieu of classes. Thursday or throughout the weekend works best because it is when many students unwind from class work.

    • 2

Scout a venue for the event. Consult the school faculty for areas on campus where you can hold such an event, or talk with local bar owners and ask to work with them to organize the event.

    • 3

Invite friends via social networking and request confirmation on whether or not they will attend. Create a guest list with the confirmations and leave room for those "maybe attending."

    • 4

Create a playlist to last throughout the event. Choose a wide variety of music and differentiate tones from upbeat to commercial to slow.

    • 5

List singers in order of their confirmations. Stick to the list and rotate singers as necessary.
