What was the first college to let women attend?

While there's some debate depending on how you define "college" and "attend," Oberlin College is generally recognized as the first college in the United States to admit women on an equal basis with men, beginning in 1837. Other institutions may have admitted women earlier, but often with restrictions or in separate programs.
