Why should students do community service in order to graduate from college?

While community service is a valuable and enriching experience, it is not essential for graduation from college. Many colleges and universities do not require community service as a graduation requirement. Instead, they may offer opportunities for students to participate in community service as a way to enhance their education and build their skills and experiences.

Advocating for mandatory community service as a graduation requirement raises several considerations and potential drawbacks:

1. Accessibility and Equity: Community service might be more accessible to certain students than others. Students who come from more privileged backgrounds may have more resources, transportation, and opportunities to engage in community service compared to students who face financial constraints or other challenges.
