Print out and read each course syllabus thoroughly. Transfer the dates of all quizzes, papers, and exams onto a digital calendar. Synchronize your calendar with your email or smartphone, if possible.
Create a weekly study plan using a seven-day calendar. Develop a time management plan for each week that includes time for sleep, leisure and exercise.
Set an objective for each study session, then devote at least two hours for every hour of your courses. Prioritize your study time according to level of difficulty. Plan to tackle your easy tasks first, which will then motivate you to to work on more complex problems.
Review your class notes within a day following the lecture. Reinforce what you know by rewriting your notes in your own voice. Create flash cards, mind maps and practice problems to review and self-test.
Visit your professor or teaching assistant during office hours to help clarify more difficult concepts. Join a study group or apply for a tutor to assist you as well.
