The TI-83 is a handheld graphing calculator made by Texas Instruments. What differentiates the TI-83 from scientific calculators is the screen that enables you to see graphs, as well as lists of data and plots. You use lists to perform certain calculations in statistics, like figuring out the mean or median. You can also use lists to build scatter plots and other types of graphs. Lists are entered on the home screen, which is the default screen that allows you to enter calculations.
