What Is the National Technical Honor Society?

The National Technical Honor Society was created to recognize student achievement in career and technical education. The society has a vision to create "significant occupational opportunities for America's top workforce education students."

    • Founded in 1984, as the National Vocational Honor society, the organization adopted its current name of National Technical Honor Society in 2003. Across the United States and its territories, 2,500 schools and colleges are affiliated with the society.

    • The National Technical Honor Society assists vocational education schools and colleges in promoting excellence in their establishments. The society's mission is many-fold and includes encouraging students to develop the necessary skills for the workplace and for schools and colleges to build effective relationships with business and industry.     Student Membership

    • Student members of the National Technical Honor Society receive scholarship eligibility, online educational resources and letters of recommendation. Students also receive a membership certificate, graduation tassel and other memorabilia.
