Log in to Blackboard. Go to the Web address for your school's Blackboard site. Enter your user name and password that you use to access other site through your school. Click "Login" to enter the Blackboard site.
Find the class to which you want to add a teaching assistant. Click on the link for that course to go to the course's home screen.
Open the control panel by clicking on the drop-down menu labeled "Control Panel." Open the drop-down menu for the "Users and Groups" options and click on "Users." This will display a list of all the users enrolled in Blackboard for your course. Your name should appear in this list. If your school automatically enrolls students users, a list of all the students who registered for your course before you created your Blackboard link will also appear. Students who registered late will have to be enrolled manually like your TAs.
Add a user. Click on the "Find Users to Enroll" button at the top of the page. Enter the user name of the teaching assistant you wish to add. The TA's user name must be the same that he uses to log in to all of your school's sites. If you do not know your TA's user name, contact him to find out what it is.
Select "Teachers Assistant" from the drop-down menu. This will enroll the selected user in the role of teacher's assistant. You may manually add other users, such as late students, in this way by selecting the appropriate role title from the drop-down menu. Make sure "Yes" is selected for "Enrollment Availability" and click "Submit" to enroll your TA.
Confirm that your TA was added properly. Clicking "Submit" will return you to the list of users. A confirmation bar at the top should list the user or users that you just enrolled. You should also see your TA's name in the list of users with the designation "Teachers Assistant" beside it. If you accidentally assigned your TA the role of student, you can change a user's role by clicking the drop-down menu next to the user name and click "Change user's role in course."
Log out of Blackboard once you have successfully added your teaching assistant.
