Your target teacher will be one that is easy to communicate with.

Locate your Target. If you are going to try to convince a teacher to alter their curriculum schedule to incorporate more interesting subjects and projects you will first need to select a teacher that is open to communication. Some teachers are stricter than others and will be less willing to consider the requests of their students. This process will usually work best on teachers that you have a good rapport with, so start your search there.

Do the work and research how your topic ideas relate to the course of study.

Pick your angle and do the research. If you want a teacher to include more interesting topics, the best thing you can do is suggest a few. Granted, your options will be limited to the subject area of the individual class because teachers are less likely to include material in their curriculum if it doesn't relate to your course of study. Pick your topics carefully to avoid rejection.

Create a proposal. Put your ideas down on paper and create a written proposal to present to your teacher. This can be especially effective on strict teachers. Include in the proposal the topics you would like to learn about and how they are relevant to the class. This will show that you have gone through great lengths to research your request and will usually pay out in your favor.

Having your classmates on board can be a big help in selling your ideas to your teacher.

Get your classmates to help. If the teacher that you are trying to sell ideas to runs large classes, talk to a few of your classmates and see if they are maybe interested in learning about these same topics. If they would like to help you can ask them to write their own proposals or possibly even sign a petition of sorts for you to present to your teacher with your proposal.

Make an appointment to talk to your teacher when they have the time to talk to you about your ideas.

Present your ideas and proposal to your teacher. You will want to designate a time when you and your teacher can sit down face to face and discuss the ideas you are presenting them. Bombarding them before during or after class may be a negative choice. Teachers are often very busy and rushed during the day and you may be looking at a quick rejection if you attempt to talk to them during these times. Find out your teachers office hours and set up an appointment so they can focus on your conversation.
