Why john Harvard made the college?

John Harvard did not found Harvard College. While he left a significant legacy to the college, it was founded by the Massachusetts General Court in 1636, a year before Harvard's death, with the intention of creating a college to educate clergy. John Harvard's bequest of his library and half his estate greatly assisted the fledgling institution, leading to its being named in his honor.
