The Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, Pa., offers a B.S. degree in automotive technology management. The Brigham Young University campus in Rexburg, Idaho, has an automotive technology department with a four-year B.S. program to prepare students for management and customer service in the automotive business. The program offers hands-on opportunities in its auto classes, and students are required to complete at least one internship during their four years. Students have to provide their own tools for the classes, but each applicant is qualified to win a $500 scholarship to cover school expenses. Brigham Young also has an Automotive Student Association, which hosts labs and fairs for department students.
The University of Central Missouri has a four-year, bachelor of science program for automotive technology management. The program helps place students in careers such as customer service, sales and technical trainers. The educational program has been approved by The Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE). Students must have completed high school or the equivalent to apply. Students must complete an internship for hands-on training before graduating. Scholarships are available for qualified applicants. The college is proud of its extensive automotive-technology facilities, allotting one-third of its 66,000-square-foot technology building to the program.
Weber State University located in Ogden, Utah, offers a BS which prepares its students for jobs in after-market management, parts management, service management or collision repair management. The automotive department at the college works with American Honda Motor Co. to train students according to Honda's standards. Students must complete 22 credit hours of automotive coursework in addition to 19 hours of general classes. Scholarships are sometimes available for the program, and students may opt to take some classes online. Students must maintain a 2.00 GPA to graduate from the program.
