The American Association of University Women Educational Foundation (AAUW) has assisted women with their graduate school goals both in the United States and abroad since 1881. As one of the world's largest sources for female graduate degree funding, the AAUW provided more than 250 scholarships, grants and special awards to women during the 2007-2008 school year. The AAUW strives to assist women who have overcome barriers such as poverty and abuse attain their dreams of an education and equal employment and career opportunities.
This grant is available to female U.S. citizens and permanent residents who seek a graduate degree for career advancement, career change, or those who are planning to re-enter the workforce. Funds can be used for a graduate degree, a second graduate degree or additional technical education. Requirements include course work completion at an accredited two- or four-year college or university, either in a traditional classroom or through distance learning. A combined grant and internship, this program is designed to encourage undergraduate women students to pursue graduate studies in science (including computer science) and engineering.The 10-week paid internship also includes a $2,500 grant. Students must be female, a sophomore or junior in an undergraduate program and have a 3.0 or better GPA.
