Make a list of your passions, what you spend your time doing and what you would do if you could choose anything.
Identify jobs that utilize your skill set. Find specific companies and check their career page to determine what they look for in a candidate. Understand the requirements and job responsibilities in this career path. Make a list of several options.
Assess majors those jobs look for in the hiring process.Often this section of the company website will list required majors considered by the company. This will help narrow down your field. Then begin looking for colleges in your state or the top colleges in the nation that offer your program or programs of interest. Research the professors, the classes, the specialization options and whether or not the college offers study abroad opportunities.
Declare your major. This sets you on track to fulfilling your dreams. Visit the school before you begin your first semester. Meet with an adviser in your chosen department. Introduce yourself to other students and ask them questions. Understand the expectations and the classes and study load involved.
