Obtain and read the study your paper will explore, and highlight interesting points in the study that you would like to explore further in your paper. Create an outline that contains the points in the study you would like write about in your paper. Search for additional sources that may complement, support or negate the information you have found. Use reputable scholarly sources, summarize the sources and add the information you gather into your outline.
Determine the thesis of your paper, which should be one complex sentence that explains what you are researching and what you plan to show to prove your point. The thesis is generally featured in the last paragraph of the introduction, which should explain the premise of your paper, the purpose of your research and the reason for the topic of the paper.
Write your body paragraphs, incorporating the sources you have researched, points from the study and your analysis of the points and the sources. The points that you originally put on your outline will serve as the basis for the body paragraphs. Include transitions from point to point as you write the body paragraphs.
Summarize your main points and address the validity of your thesis in your conclusion paragraph. Though sources do not have to be incorporated in this paragraph, include the sources that support your analysis. In your conclusion, explain the points that you have made throughout the paper and how your analysis and research holds up against your thesis by addressing whether your research proves or disproves your thesis.
