How to Accept a Queens College Acceptance Letter

You have applied to many schools, but you finally got the acceptance letter you were waiting for: you were accepted to Queen's College in Flushing, New York. One issue that is rarely covered by high school guidance counselors is the procedure for letting a college know that you will be attending. Most undergraduate colleges and universities do not have a formal system for accepting your spot, but there is a general procedure to follow to let the school know that you are interested.

Instructions

    • 1

Register for the summer freshman or transfer student orientation; you will receive a form in the mail. Students who fail to attend orientation are generally considered to be not attending unless they contact the college and make other arrangements to register for classes. If you cannot attend orientation, call the Queens College Admissions Office, 718-997-5600, to find out how you can register and receive your information about housing and classes.

    • 2

Pay your $100 deposit (as of April, 2011) to reserve your seat for fall classes. This can be completed during orientation. If you cannot attend orientation, call the admissions office, 718-997-5600, to make payment arrangements.

    • 3

Take your placement tests at orientation, or make arrangements to take them at another testing center by calling the admissions office.

    • 4

Register for classes. Once you have registered, you have a spot in your courses unless you fail to make payments for the classes. In that case, your courses will be dropped.
