Study examples of business letters. They can show you how your scholarship letter should be formatted.
Format your page to have 1-inch margins on all four sides. This will give your letter a uniform look.
Use a standard font in black. Times New Roman in 12-point size is a good choice for a scholarship letter. Using an unusual font, size or color is distracting and looks less professional.
Type the return address and date in the top left corner of the page. The inside address, which is the recipient's name and address, is typed on the left margin of the page after the date, with three blank lines between the date and inside address. Skip one line and write your salutation.
Each paragraph should start on the left margin with a blank line between the paragraphs.
At the end of your letter, skip one line and type your closing. Your name should be typed below the closing with three blank lines between the closing and your typed name. This gives you space to sign your name when the letter is printed.
