Do you have to a masters degree teach in grade school NYC?

In order to teach in a New York City public elementary school, a candidate must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, pass all sections of the New York State Teacher Certification Examinations (NYSTCE), and complete a teacher preparation program. A master's degree is not required for initial certification as a teacher in New York City.
