Students in Ontario enrolled in university, college or trade school may be eligible to receive a Canada Student Grant. Students can receive grants of up to $250 per month of study, depending on family income. Students with disabilities may be eligible for grants of up to $2,000 to cover regular education costs and up to $8,000 for extraordinary costs related to studying with a disability. Full- or part-time students caring for children younger than 12 may qualify for grants of up to $200 per month per child. You can apply for most of these grants on your regular OSAP application. Ontario Access Grants are available to first- and second-year students from low- and moderate-income families enrolled in undergraduate programs lasting longer than two years. Students may be eligible for a grant covering 25 to 50 percent of tuition costs, up to a maximum of $3,000 per year. The amount of the grant is dependent on your parents' incomes, and you must be eligible for a regular Ontario Student Loan to apply. You can apply for the Ontario Access Grant on your OSAP application.
Ontario students taking between 20 and 59 percent of a full course load at a university, college or trade school may be eligible for an Ontario Part-time Grant. Low-income students who qualify for a federal part-time student loan may be eligible to receive up to $500 per year. To apply for the Ontario Part-time grant, you must fill out a Canada Student Loans part-time student loan/grant application, which is available on the OSAP website.
Full-time students at Ontario public colleges and universities may be eligible for an Ontario Textbook and Technology Grant of $150 per year. You must qualify for an Ontario Student Loan to be eligible for this grant. You can apply for the Ontario Textbook and Technology Grant on your OSAP application.
