The Pell Grant does not have its own form; by completing the FAFSA, students are automatically considered for the Federal Pell Grant (as long as they meet the requirements).
You can obtain a FAFSA form (hard copy) to complete and mail in; however, most students complete the form online (www.fafsa.ed.gov).
The FAFSA website explains the online FAFSA submission process to students and informs them of the information they'll be asked to input.
You'll be required to enter personal and financial data, the numeric code of your school (you can search for the code on the site) and submit an application to receive your own PIN number.
The PIN number acts as your electronic signature, so you must receive one in order to submit the FAFSA.
After you submit the FAFSA, the U.S. Department of Education process it and sends you a Student Aid Report (SAR), or an Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR) is sent to the institution they plan to enroll in, which will notify you of your Pell Grant qualification and amount.
