How to Find Federal Grants for Women Veterans

Federal grants are available for everything from paying college tuition, conducting research or starting a small business. There are federal grants specifically set aside for women veterans due to the service they've done for their country. The hardest part can be finding available grants and applying for them. Some federal grants are based on need and income, while others are set aside for specific endeavors like buying a house or starting a business.

  Fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if you need federal grant money for education. Once you've filled out a FAFSA application, it will be reviewed and you will receive a reply. If you have shown financial need, you will given a Federal Pell Grant for your educational goal.

  Log onto FederalGrantsWire which is a free grant finder website.

  Look for "Federal Grants by Applicant Type" and click on "See All 35 Applicant Types" which is highlighted in blue.

  Go to the bottom of the "Federal Grants, Government Grants and Loans by Applicant/Benefactor Type" webpage. At the bottom of the webpage will be both "Veteran Federal Grants" and "Women Federal Grants" highlighted in red.

  Click on both the "Veteran Federal Grants" and "Women Federal Grants" links and search for federal grants a women veteran can apply for.
