Do not dramatically change your teaching style or way of conducting class just because you know you will be evaluated. Dramatic changes in the classroom mood and tone can affect students and leave you feeling uncertain. Retain your normal teaching style while working to show yourself in your best light.
Be on time for class and start classwork promptly. Not showing up on time or wasting considerable amounts of time before class can reflect badly on you as a teacher.
Make your daily goals clear at the opening of the class. Observers are often looking for the teacher to clearly articulate the goals of the class and then follow through with the lesson according to the goals.
Have extra material handy for if you run through your materials quickly due to nervousness. Without extra materials, you might appear unprepared.
Let your class know ahead of time that there will be a visitor in the class on evaluation day and let them know your behavioral expectations.
