Phoenix College is a part of Maricopa Community College and resides in Phoenix, Arizona. Mesa Community College's forensic program teaches collection, identification, photography, preservation and investigative strategies. Other certificates available in this department are victimology, where students also specialize in crisis intervention, community services and victim rights.
Pima Community College in Tucson offers programs in public safety careers which include a certificate in crime scene investigation and an associate's degree in administration of justice. Pima forensic students learn how to process a crime scene as well as work with the justice system to administer their findings. Once students finish the program, they go on to careers as a crime scene technician or analyst. Students take courses in forensics sciences such as latent processing, crime scene photography, blood pattern documentation, ballistics, criminalistics, courtroom testimony and report writing. Pima offers day, night and weekend classes for a variety of student schedules.
The forensic science program at Scottsdale Community College (SCC) resides in the Applied Sciences building. Built in 1999, the building contains two lecture rooms and two specialty classrooms that allow for blood and hair examination as well as a mock crime scene. Students can earn an Associate of Applied Science through SCC. The degree prepares students for working in forensic crime labs. Along with criminal justice courses and crime scene technology, students also take courses in general education with math, physics and chemistry courses.
