Type "References" at the top of a new page and center it. Do not bold, italicize or underline the title. Hit your "Enter" key once to move down to the next line, and press "Ctrl+E" to align the remainder of the text to the left.
Gather a list of the authors and names of all resources you used in your paper. The information you need regarding each source depends on the type of source it is; you would not cite a film or book in the same manner that you would cite a journal article. Consult the most recent version of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association or the Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL) for specifics on how to cite each type of source.
Organize your citations in alphabetical order. Hit "Enter" once after each individual citation. There is no need to space more than one time between each entry.
Indent any citations that take up more than one line of text with a hanging indentation. To do this, leave the first line of each entry aligned left and indent each subsequent line a half inch to the right.
