Information technology and systems is a field of growing importance. As technology develops and becomes ever more incorporated into businesses, IT specialists become more and more desirable. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, jobs for IT and systems managers are expected to grow as much as 17% by 2018. Many programs in Texas offer post-graduate degrees in this field, since the competition has increased.

The accounting portion of the degree makes students marketable to financial businesses and departments.
