Conduct research regarding the graduate sororities at your college. Determine their mission and find out details pertaining to their philanthropy. This information may be found online, and if information about the sororities' local chapters isn't online, then visit the national organization's site.
Request specific information regarding a sorority by calling your graduate school's director of student affairs, or if you are interested in a specific graduate sorority, call the chapter president. Tell these leaders of your interest in joining a graduate sorority, and explain your reasons for your interest. Ask questions, such as how many members the sorority has and what kinds of activities the members are involved in. Determine dues and other expenses, and also ask about a member's required time commitment to the sorority.
Request the requirements and guidelines to join the sorority. Carefully read the guidelines and determine if you meet the requirements. Your grade point average from your undergraduate college and your involvement with a charity are just a few examples of possible requirements. Letters of recommendation may also be required in order to join.
Ask a chapter president if it's permissible to visit the sorority or at least meet a few members before applying. By meeting the members face-to-face and having the opportunity to ask questions, you're likely to get a feel for the sorority, and you may have a good idea of whether it's the right fit.
Complete the application process. Ensure that you've thoroughly answered all questions eloquently and appropriately. Provide all required attached materials, such as transcripts and letters of recommendation. Expect to go through an interview process, and you may be required to earn a specific number of volunteer hours from a nonprofit organization before being accepted.
