Write important due dates for your project on a calendar and highlight the dates. This will help you organize and process each step of the project so that you are not scrambling at the last minute to complete the assignment. Keep the class syllabus and assignment sheet in a safe location so that you can easily access any information you need throughout the course of the semester.
Work backward from the due date and devise a schedule for completing small portions of the project every day. Divide your time line into fourths, thirds and halves and star those dates on your calendar; these dates are when you should have completed important parts of the project. Write down what should be finished each day; that way, you have a clear outline of your daily tasks. Leave the day before the project is due open. Avoid assigning any important work for this day; reserve it for last-minute editing and looking over your finished work.
Avoid procrastinating. Stay focused and complete your daily tasks to prevent the project from becoming uncontrollable. Work at a location where you will not be distracted, such as a library, quiet study area or empty classroom.
