Distance Learning Universities in Australia

Australia is a large country with many rural and outback communities that rely on distance learning for higher education. Some of the country's major universities began online distance learning programs as early as 1994, shortly after the Internet became available in Australia.

The university system in Australia offers distance learning programs to both residents and citizens of Australia and overseas students. Due to visa restrictions, overseas students who are residing in Australia are unable to attend Australian distance universities.
