Can you call degree as graduation?

While the terms are often used interchangeably in casual conversation, strictly speaking, a "degree" is the *award* granted upon successful completion of a course of study, while "graduation" is the *ceremony* and *act* of receiving that degree. So you can graduate and receive a degree, but a degree isn't itself a graduation.
