The educational requirements for becoming a travel nurse vary depending on the state in which you wish to practice. However, most states require travel nurses to have at least an associate degree in nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program, as well as a valid RN license. Some states also require travel nurses to have a bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Additionally, most travel nurse agencies require travel nurses to have at least one year of experience working as an RN in a hospital or other healthcare setting.
