What Is the Proper Way to Mat & Frame a Dental License?

A dental license is obtained by dental health professionals to show that they can legally practice dentistry within their state. After the proper examinations have been passed and the dental license application has been accepted, the license is issued to the dental health professional. Once the dental license has been properly matted and framed, it can be presented in the practicing office for incoming patients to see.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase an 11x17 inch mounting mat, an 11x17 inch window mat, 11x17 inch picture frame and hinge tape at a craft store. These items can be located in the photo frame section of the craft store. The mounting mat will be used to place the dental license on. The hinge tape will attach the window mat to the mounting mat and the window mat will lay over the license, allowing it to be viewed.

Place the mounting mat on a flat surface. Lay the window mat above the mounting mat, with the backside facing up. Cut two 4-inch strips of hinge tape and place them horizontally between window mat and mounting mat, on the left and right sides, attaching them together. The end result should resemble an open book.

Center the dental license on the mounting board and mark the corners with a pencil. Remove the license and horizontally place 1-inch strips of double sided tape on each corner that is marked. Match the outer left or right corner of the tape with the pencil markings.

Put the matted dental license into the photo frame with the front of the dental license facing the glass. Close the photo frame by placing the back cover on it and securing it with the fasteners. Hang the frame upon completion.
