Anatomy 3G

Medical schools increasingly recommend or require their students to have iPhones or iPads. Some, such as Stanford University and University of California Irvine, distribute iPads to all incoming students. With pre-med and med students' needs in mind, many iPhone 3G and iPad 3G applications have been developed to help in the study of human anatomy.
  1. Textbooks and Atlases

    • Gray's Anatomy is regarded as one of the most important medical textbooks of the past century. The iPad application features the full text and more than one thousand illustrations. Also available is Netter's Atlas of Human Anatomy, containing more than 500 detailed images by the noted medical illustrator and artist Frank Netter. Flash-card versions of both texts are also available. The Imaging Atlas of Human Anatomy displays views of a healthy human body through modern imaging techniques, such as MRI and CT scan.

    Practice Quizzes

    • Speed Bones MD, Speed Muscles MD and Speed Anatomy help students prepare for exams and quizzes while playing a fun game at the same time. Other practice-test apps include Anatomy Quiz and Skeletal Anatomy 3D.

    Individual Body Parts

    • Some applications focus on specific areas of the body, such as 3D Brain, Heart Pro, Tooth IQ, Digestive System, and Muscle, Head and Neck System.
