How to Convert Canadian Medical School Grades to American Equivalents

American and Canadian medical schools have different grading systems. Canadian schools often use number percentages for their grade point average (GPA) while American universities use numbers on a one to four scale. American medical schools do not use a universally recognized scale. For instance, some schools might convert an 80 percent to 3.0 while another school would recognize 80 percent as 2.5. To accurately convert your grades, you will need to contact the American medical school.
